Since 1994, MOUNTAINHILL has stood for original Bundeswehr equipment, tactical gear and outdoor clothing – grown from a small idea into a modern, forward-looking specialist store with its own online shop. What has never left us over the years: the aim to advise you with real expertise and to supply kit you can rely on.
It all started in 1994 as a sideline – first with the sale of used army goods. That small idea quickly became more: as early as 2000 our first own online shop went live, still based on osCommerce – at a time when online shopping was still new territory for many. Our first premises were at Dr.-Müller-Str. 5 in Weiden, before we moved in 2006 into our current new building at Dr.-Müller-Str. 18.
Our range has also kept evolving: streetwear brands such as Brandit, Alpha Industries, Vintage Industries and ELEMENT were added, while we moved away from workwear only and from military clothing for women – the latter because there was simply no serious product development left on the market. So the small sideline became a broadly based specialist store for Bundeswehr equipment, tactical gear and outdoor clothing.
I, Thomas, am still actively involved in day-to-day business as the owner – together with a well-rehearsed team in IT & eCommerce, sales & advice, and warehouse & shipping. This mix of personal closeness and modern structures is what defines us: we run the business with a digital, future-oriented mindset without losing sight of personal contact with our customers.
