The beret badge identifies the troop type of long-range reconnaissance patrols and is worn on the beret. It is made of metal and corresponds to the typical design customary for Bundeswehr beret badges.

Purchasing and collecting are legal in Germany. However, publicly wearing them on clothing/uniforms without authorization is punishable as misuse of titles, decorations and Bundeswehr uniforms (§ 132a StGB).
The badge is always worn on the left side, diagonally above the temple/ear. The beret is traditionally pulled to the right.
The metal badge should be slightly adapted to the shape of the head so that it lies flat and does not stick out ("sail effect").
