The PSV beret badge identifies membership in the psychological defense troop type within the Bundeswehr. It is worn on the beret and is an official identification feature of the respective troop type. The metal badge is suitable for both daily service use and for collectors and uniform wearers.

Purchasing and collecting are legal in Germany. However, publicly wearing them on clothing/uniforms without authorization is punishable as misuse of titles, decorations and Bundeswehr uniforms (§ 132a StGB).
The badge is always worn on the left side, diagonally above the temple/ear. The beret is traditionally pulled to the right.
The metal badge should be slightly adapted to the shape of the head so that it lies flat and does not stick out ("sail effect").
